i almost went to the pillow fight this year, but gladly did not. while riding my bike the next day by the sea port i saw such a disturbing aftermath of pillow parts. i am so thankful i was not a part of this mess. i think you should have fun, but be respectful. |

It was extremely disappointing that the pillow fight was broken up so quickly, which was a direct result of the decision to hold it on Wall Street where there's already a full-time police presence. In retrospect that probably wasn't the best choice of location. The pillow fight shouldn't be about political symbolism, it should just be a bunch of people beating each other up with pillows.
Sure, some people ended up going to the South Street Seaport, but I had no way of knowing that people would be going there. I ended up with a group of people who engaged in some after-fights at the Bowling Green area, but it wasn't that great.
With that said, at least our pillow fight lasted longer than the one in Detroit, where police actually confiscated people's pillows. So there is that. |

Thank you everybody for coming :) That was even more beautiful than we expected it to be.
As for cleanup, the police would not allow us.
See you at our next event :) |

"Fill"anthropic FLASH MOB invitation!
At 5:55 on 5/5 at a public Fountain in your area
Bring a can of food for the local Food Bank. Flood the fountain with bags of canned food. Here is the plan.
Show up at a local fountain around 5:45 (wearing rain gear and galoshes if you have them). Start milling around. At 5:55 the alert will sound and everyone will walk up to the fountain place their food in a plastic bag in and around the fountain. Call your local food bank to be there with a truck to haul it back to their warehouse. Smile...we have done a fun and easy good/bad deed!
Forward and share. The more the merrier. Make it happen. Resend this message on 5/5 to remind everyone. Text it around too!
Barbara,

I dislocated my kneecap trying to find an entrance... They picked me up in an ambulance and took me to St. Vincent's. I really wish I could have been there! |

Also, I'm sure the girl was let of of jail with a fine and maybe a court date in her future. I'm sorry but hitting an officer, even with just a pillow, was a dumb move. I still felt bad about it but it really had nothing to do with making an example out of her. Unless it was an example of who NOT to hit with your pillow... |

We would've cleaned up the feathers if the police let us stay and do so. |

lol to the guys that were disappointed. there was alot more than one pillow fight at the designated spot. If you stayed a while longer, and moved a block down, you would have found a bunch more pillow fights. I migrated to three of them, and ended up at the seaport where it finished. |
