Saturday, April 4th 2009 on Wall Street at 3:00 PM

wallstsubways

A massive pillow fight in New York City! Pillows fly and fake cash soars as we converge on Wall Street for a massive urban pillow fight! Swing and whack as you evade pillow-wielding bank executives. Bring a pillow to Wall Street and wait for the signal. Pillow fight!

This year's pillow fight is timed to coincide with pillow fights in cities all over the world. Learn more about World Pillow Fight Day. This event is hosted by Newmindspace.

The Rules
Feather-free pillows only! + Swing lightly, many people will be swinging at once. + Do not swing at people without pillows or with cameras. + Remove glasses beforehand! + The event is FREE and appropriate for ALL AGES. Wait until 3:00 to begin. + Soft pillows only!
Dress to the nines and demand your bailout money :)

The Cleanup Effort: Volunteers Needed!
This year's goal is to clean up 100% of the litter left behind. To help in this effort, limit feather pillows. If you would like to help clean up, please bring some trash bags :) We will distribute gloves and brooms.

We would've cleaned up the feathers if the police let us stay and do so.

lol to the guys that were disappointed. there was alot more than one pillow fight at the designated spot. If you stayed a while longer, and moved a block down, you would have found a bunch more pillow fights. I migrated to three of them, and ended up at the seaport where it finished.

My first time at a HUGE pillow fight
it was pretty sweet, my friend was the girl with the pikachu if anyone happened to notice haha (:

the only thing annoying was the blasting police D:<
other than that it was sweet

Sucks on the barriers that were put in just for the PF.. Things went pretty well till the guy at the end of my photo set pissed off a cop, less than 5 min later he was shutting it down.

Thanks for using feather pillows and not cleaning up! Maybe next year you can leave bags of crap everywhere too! BTW, there aren't actually any 'Wall St' firms on Wall St.

WHERE IS THE PETITON TO LET THAT GIRL OUT OF JAIL!?

Such injustice. They did it just to make an example of someone and oppress us. We need to fight back!

Well that was disappointing. The police blocked it off. Looks like the first couple thousand people were allowed into the "designated pillow-fight area" and then it was closed. A whole lot more people were standing around outside the roadblocks, confused and annoyed.

Perhaps doing it on Wall St. this year was not the best idea newmindspace has had...

If you don't want people to use feather pillows, you may want to *not* have your promo shots and the background of this web page all be photos of feathers floating in a sunny sky...

This Friday and Saturday, United for Peace and Justice will hold rallies directed against the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, as well as targeted demonstrations against Wall Street firms.

On Friday, the group has scheduled a rally and march in the Wall Street area. Please note that during the rally, which is scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m. and is directed against firms receiving bailouts, streets in the area may be closed to vehicular or pedestrian traffic. The rally is scheduled to close with a 5:15 p.m. event in Foley Square. The NYPD does not anticipate acts of civil disobedience during the demonstration.

There is also a potentially larger rally planned for Saturday that will begin on Broadway and continue down Wall Street past the New York Stock Exchange and conclude in the Battery Park area.
